Modelers United Code Of Conduct
Code Of Conduct Category
- Racist, Sexist, or Inflammatory subject matter
- Do not make posts that are racist, sexist, or contain inflammatory subject matter. We do not expect everyone to get along, like any community in the real world people will have their differences and that´s okay. However, we do not condone threatening or abusive language toward other members. This is one of the core tenets of MU and the reason it is listed as the first rule, please keep this in mind at all times.

- PG-13
- Keep posts PG-13. Swearing itself isn´t banned, but keep it relatively clean for our younger members. Think of the last PG-13 movie you saw, there was probably some swearing but nothing really bad, so keep your posts like that.

- Multiple Threads
- Do not make multiple copies of threads. One thread is plenty for any subject, it doesn´t make your thread more important or urgent because it is posted several times.
- Top
- Appropriate Forums
- Make new threads in the appropriate forums. If you´re confused about where to place a new topic, just ask a moderator and they will be glad to help. :]
- Top
- Derailing
- Do not post irrelevant messages or disturb the conversations of other members by diverting the subject unnecessarily. This is often called "derailing" a topic. For example, if a thread is titled "How to Grow a Pumpkin Properly" it is most likely not appropriate to post about the latest MMORPG. This is not to be confused with conversations that evolve and veer slightly from the original topic. If you´re confused about any given thread, ask a mod.

- Pornographic Or Vulgar Images
- Do not display pornographic or otherwise vulgar images or links that lead to web pages with any of those subjects. We are not a porn forum, there are places for that and MU is not one of them. Any posts of this nature will be summarily locked and deleted without warning. In short: don´t do it.

- Not Safe For Work
- We understand with figure models that they are not always clothed with this in mind we have to request that the start of any thread with nude kits on starts with the phrase *NSFW* this is to allow people who are viewing the boards at work to avoid viewing material that could be against their employers I.T. policy

- Trolling
- Trolling will not be tolerated. If you are unsure as to what "trolling" is please consult this link: Internet Trolls
- Top
- File Attachment
- File attachements are limited to 5 files per post. While there may be rare need to post more attachments per post this will likely be rare unless your a spambot, or posting WIP or Gallery threads. Please don´t abuse the ability to attach files

- Image Size
- In text images for these forums are limited to 640px x 640px and 5 images per post. This is done for 2 reasons the first being to allow people on lower bandwidth internet connections a reasonable load time, and the second being that anything over 640px wide will allow users with older monitors to avoid having to horizontally scroll to see an image.

- Double Posting
- Do not double post.
A double post is when a member replies to a thread then posts directly after themselves only to add to their original post. All members have the ability to edit their own posts if they need to add more information.
There are a few exceptions to this rule:
If you are posting a WIP of a model, or your finished pictures of a model, it is not unreasonable for double posting to occur as you update the thread or attach more images.
The second exception involves "bumping" a thread. This is when a post is made in a thread for it to be pushed to the top of the list and gain attention again. Only one bump is permitted per 24 hours.

- Model Recast Policy
- Recasts kits are something of a hot topic within the model making community and we recognise this and as such we have come up with the following guidelines for behaviour reguarding them.
1. No flamatory remarks with regards to someone building a recast kit will be tollerated. People may have to build recasts knowingly or unknowingly due to kit avalibility, or cost of original kits.
2. The active promotion of recasts is forbidden. While we understand the "need" for recasts to exist we do not wish to promote their use while an original kit can be found either via a web shop or Yahoo! Japan Auctions.
3. The posting of recast requests is forbidden. Any posts requesting recasts be made or offering to take recasts of an existing kit will be deleted.
While we are for the moment going to allow the sale of existingly owned recast kits in our trade section this may be banned subject to abbuse by members.

- Common Sense
- Lastly and most importantly, treat others how you want to be treated. That will avoid a lot of problems if you just give others the same amount of respect you want in turn. There will be disagreements and differences of opinion, but there is no need for it to get out of hand. Again, use common sense, and think twice before you click "submit" on your post.
